I like the original, but you need to slow it down and add better instruments...and make it longer so it actually gets to the main part. Me and my band do a heavy metal cover of this as a warm up exercise and its fun to play. Keep working on it, maybe add some heavier percussion and it'll be awesome.

I don't think I can suggest anything that'll make this better per say, it reminds me of a piece from Star Ocean 3. This seems to have the right mix of instruments and chords to make it interesting while giving it the mood you desired.

this one had a better flow, and seemed to accomplish what you set out to do better than the "Deep in the woods." I still think you can add more instruments and give this more depth. Its good, but it feels empty.

The chord progression changes too fast at the beginning, and it doesnt sound quiet right. Either change the last chord, or invert it or something to get it to flow better, or add a more contrasting melody to make it flow better. It got more interesting in the second half, but the intro/first half needs to change.

I'm not a fan of rap/hip-hop but at least you kept it similar to the original and didn't completely ruin it. Leader1 is stupid, that was like saying take anything that's musically redeeming about the song and take it out, so you can have a crappy 8th note drum beat that doesn't change, now all you need to do is add lyrics about shooting your best friend in the back and you'll have a hit.

Cool song man. What do you use to record your guitar? Everytime I hook mine up to my pc it sounds a lot shittier than through the amp.
